Stretch Armstrong recalls meeting a 16 year old name Nasir Jones. Excerpt from the below:

Walking back from a shooting in Harlem, we bumped into Stretch Armstrong, right in front of WCKR. That’s the station where he started – in 1990 – what would later become the “Stretch and Bobbito Show”, which many consider the best show ever.

The guy NORE used to call “the albino ostrige” recalls a number of great moments and a greater number of (then) unsigned rappers who blazed the show : cats like Jay-Z, Eminem, Big Pun, ODB, Big L, Biggie, and also a 16 y.o kid in shorts called Nasir…

“I went to every single record label, and they was like, ‘This guy is terrible. He’s nothing,’ ” Jay told MTV News prior to the release of The Blueprint in 2001. “I had to put [Reasonable Doubt] out myself, because nobody would sign me.”

That was back in 1996, when Roc-A-Fella records was born, not out of entrepreneurial expansion but, as Hova made clear, out of necessity. “I would press up singles and go to the record stores myself, collect $100, $200, come back, give them some more records,” he recalled. “It started like that.”

Jay wasn’t embittered by his struggle, though. If anything, it gave him a sharper perspective on the music business. “It made me appreciate it so much more,” he said. “No one gave me anything. They didn’t give me a record deal. I really just took my time and grew it step by step by step by step. I could have easily been like, ‘Maybe what I’m talking about ain’t right! Nobody wants to sign me!’ That would have stopped the suffering. But I didn’t.”

During a recent "press conference" for his new reality show "Shaq Vs.," The Big Bettor, Shaquille O’Neal(notes), made a friendly wager with two-time Olympic gold medalists Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh concerning their beach volleyball match.

If the volleyball pros won, Shaq said he would walk two miles in a pink Speedo. But if Shaq and his teammate, Olympic gold medalist Todd Rogers, won … well … I actually don’t know what the women were going to have to do. Put on pants?

Whatever the deal, Shaq lost to May-Treanor and Walsh on last night’s episode and, as a result, had to stroll along Hermosa Beach in a pink, Earl Boykins-sized piece of nylon and spandex while the credits (with Steve Nash’s name) rolled.

New video titled “Baby”

Can someone explain to me why Kerry Washington is playing the role of a transsexual for her new movie. Here is a link of the video (which I refuse to post no offense just not use to waking up and looking at transsexuals in morning) of her talking about accepting the role, her preparation, and more. The movie Life Is Hot In Cracktown which I will most likely see is getting decent reviews and outside of Kerry’s role their isn’t anything else questionable with the film which also stars Rza, Evan Ross, the lovely Shannyn Sossamon, and many more. The movie hits theaters August 25th.

I’m going to have to agree with Meka on this one but based on the tracks I’ve heard so far Only Built For Cuban Link II > Blueprint III.
